Technology Projects
Kindergarten"Winter Clothes" Kindergarteners get quite a bit of mouse practice with this project. First they use an online tool called ArtPad to draw a piece of clothing they would wear outside in winter. The next step is to drag and drop copyright free photos of other articles of clothing. Using Notebook software students number their 'paper' and drag in the clothing in the order they would get dressed for cold weather. This includes resizing the clothing! Students added their name, and some of them a sentence about their project.

First"Zig Zag" This lesson has students typing adjectives, organizing/categorizing, and drawing lines. They are given several objects to sort and group at least four different ways. Compromise was needed if students didn't agree on where the object should be placed. They really enjoyed drawing with the creative pen to make different kinds of lines.

Second
The "Skeleton" Project. Students take screenshots of copyright free skeletal parts. In their Google Accounts they insert the pictures, resize, copy, paste, and rotate them. After arranging them on the screen, students add their name.

Digital Stories. This project has several parts. Students first learn to brainstorm using an ipad app titled SimpleMind+. In class, they will take their ideas and form a poem or story. Ipads are next used to take photos of the ideas in each of their writings. FInally, all the parts are combined using the Shutterfly Photo Story app. In this digital story, students also can draw and record their voice.

Third
3D shapes Book - Mrs. Kreuziger's and Ms. Baker's classes took photos of 3D objects around the school with a partner. They used the app called Photo Story to create a book that explains each 3D shape, the object they found to represent it, and an audio clip giving more characteristics.
Fourth
The JASON Project
All fourth graders in the district will be participating in the JASON Project this year. They will be using directions from a website to complete activities and read an on online textbook at Jason.org. The photos show students from Muir and Rusch. The first "mission" teaches students about geology and mapping while using a variety of technology skills.
