Creative Arts Festival 3/4 |
Event Date -
|
Artists and musicians from grades 3 and 4 spend an entire day learning and creating with students from other elementary schools in the district. Around 30-40 students are able to participate in this fun event.
Classes are taught by teachers and community volunteers. Students choose the class they want to be immersed in for a full day. Each year the choices vary. Past classes have included Beaded Bands, Song & Dance, Needle Felting, Glowing Lanterns, Camp Songs and Skits, Bookmaking, Instrumental Composing and iMovie. Mid afternoon, parents and the community are invited to the Sharing of the Arts. Students perform and display their art work created that day.
Students are nominated for the event by their art and music teachers based on skills and interest in the arts. Parents need to provide transportation to and from the event, located at the Portage Presbyterian Church.
