Youth Art in Madison |
Event Date -
April |
Throughout the first semester, art teachers instruct students on techniques, skills, and the use of different mediums. They watch students closely to see who has applied what they have learned to their art. Fifteen student's exemplary work in elementary and middle school are selected by teachers and sent to Madison, where local art entities choose nine to be displayed in the Capitol's rotunda.
All fifteen students attend the showing as part of a school field trip. A visit to the children's museum or the Chazen Art Museum are also included in the special day. Lunch is provided as an extra treat for the talented artists.
