Battle of the Books is a fun activity for students who enjoy reading. The contest is designed to promote a love of reading and encourage students to read a variety of books. Students need to remember information about the author, the plots, the characters and settings of the book when they take the Battle test.
Students participating in the Battle of the Books agree to read (as a team) a pre-selected list of 20 titles. The statewide contest will consist of 30 questions on the books, which are answered by providing the title and author of the book. Points are awarded for each correct answer. Students compete in teams of 2-4 members and may consist of students from multiple grade levels. This contest is for students in grades 4 and up.
