Google Expeditions - A Virtual Field Trip!
Students at Rusch and Muir Elementary in grades 3-5 were surprised by a visit from Google! Porsha brought along two cases of Google Cardboard with smartphones so that students could take a virtual trip to exotic places around the globe. Each classroom was able to choose their expedition and used Google Goggles to have a 360 degree view of their surroundings. Places students viewed on their travels included Kruger National Park, coral reefs, the seven new wonders of the world, landforms, and underwater exploration of the ocean! Teachers led students by using a tablet to guide what they saw. Each expedition included numerous highlights so students could learn more. Students talked afterward about how much fun they had. Teachers loved that they could share such incredible sights with their students.
